The space below had both good natural light and square footage, but because it was poorly defined and served multiple functions had become one undifferentiated homework, art project, reading and family dining area.
It was helpful to the clients to understand the visioning of the room when a computer rendering was generated- both of the overall feel and the proposed built-ins. I envisioned a unified space where distinct functions were distilled by the use of hidden storage and a banquette.
The finished space employs the layout defined by the rendering, but with modifications to colors and specific furnishings. The room is both beautiful and useful, and this form is accompanied by efficient function.
